Greek Long Grain Parboiled Rice from Thessaloniki

Cultivation Area: Thessaloniki Prefecture, North Greece

Cultivation: All our rice is grown in small family farms in the delta of Thessaloniki’s rivers and coastal areas.  The relatively extensive sunshine in September and October in particular is conducive to the good nutrition of the grain which is important for its quality and nutritional value. Meanwhile, the abundant moisture, high temperatures and sunshine during the summer favour the growth and premium quality of rice. The soil has high water storing capacity and pH 6-6.5, considered excellent for farming.

Characteristics: Long grain rice that through the process of parboiling acquires its yellow colour.

Tasting notes: It has a lightaromaand it is naturally salty so it is ideal if you like granularricepilaf.
